About the Role:
As the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will drive business improvement by delivering insights and performance management. Your strong business acumen will provide valuable counsel to leadership, offering actionable insights and a compelling narrative. Your focus on timely, relevant, and insightful reports and analytics will promote business learning and effective change. Leading and developing the Finance team to align with the group strategy and business partners will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis, KPIs, and trend analysis, providing insights on financial performance.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, forecasts, and models for operational and executive decision-making.
- Monitor and analyse financial metrics, identifying risks, opportunities, and recommending performance improvements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with department heads and senior management to develop annual budgets, revenue projections, expense forecasts, and capital expenditure plans.
- Lead the budgeting process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to timelines.
- Monitor budget performance, analyse variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Strategic Planning
- Provide financial insights and analysis to assist in developing long-term strategic plans.
- Act as a key lead in M&A activities and due diligence analysis, ensuring smooth financial reporting post-integration.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, considering market trends, competition, and regulatory changes.
- Manage corporate structuring and capital management processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial models and decision-making for strategic initiatives.
Financial Forecasting and Modelling
- Develop and maintain robust financial models for forecasting, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis.
- Utilize historical data and operational inputs to generate accurate financial forecasts.
- Analyse and interpret financial results, presenting findings to management.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate effectively with finance teams, business partners, and senior management, providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Communicate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner tailored to the audience.
- Provide guidance and support to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
About You:
- Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate information accurately and timely.
- Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting techniques, and advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Excellent understanding of financial statements, key financial metrics, and accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven experience in budgeting, strategic planning, and decision support.
- Experience with financial systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor financial professionals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
