About the Role:
The purpose of the Procurement Specialist role is to undertake needs analysis for procurement initiatives (customer needs analysis and market analysis) and to plan and execute the procurement category strategy, through managing the sourcing process.

The purpose of the Procurement Specialist role is to undertake needs analysis for procurement initiatives (customer needs analysis and market analysis) and to plan and execute the procurement category strategy, through managing the sourcing process.
- Manage stakeholders (customer, legal, finance, supplier, logistic provider, other interested parties) to ensure successful outcomes.
- Negotiate and finalise commercial documentation including co-ordinating implementation teams.
- Develop and implement strategies and plans to mitigate and manage supplier and category risk.
- Understand best practices surrounding risk and mitigation including and not limited to risk analysis and management, diligent procurement, transparency, and probity.
- Prepare and present recommendations for submission and approval.
- Ensure financial analysis is sound and is prepared with total cost of ownership values over the term of the contract.
About You
You should have relevant experience and a qualification in procurement or law would be desirable. If you are a member of CPIS or other procurement industry body, then so much the better. You should also have:
- In-depth knowledge of end-to-end procurement (maybe Indirect)
- Broad knowledge of and practical application of procurement best practice
- Proven experience in the successful management of contracts.
- Strong leadership and negotiating skills.
- Highly self- motivated and results oriented
- Able to relate to and empathise with clients.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Able to maintain strong working relationships.
- Good time management and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and prioritise work appropriately.
