About the Role:
 
  • This is a newly created critical role at Fastmount, tasked to actively seek opportunities to deliver revenue growth across a range of clients through exceptional hunting, service & relationship building skills in the Australian commercial market.
  • This role requires someone with a love for design, who can comfortably and credibly speak with architects about their projects.
  • Tasked to expand the client base, drive business outcomes, and ensure the organisations is top of mind in market - tackling challenges and opportunities for clients with solutions, this technical sales role will ultimately create lead generation and drive client acquisition & growth.
  • The focus of this role is to develop and maintain collaborative relationships, mainly with architects and specifiers, as well as key distributors, quantity surveyors, project managers, construction companies and fitout companies. If you have an existing network in NZ and/or Australia that would be beneficial for this role.
  • This role will identify, track and secure projects working with clients, leveraging CPD points and sales presentations, advising customers on product selections, working closely with the internal team to facilitate projects and meet customer expectations.  
  • At times working in conjunction with the distributor in Australia, supported by a lead generation agency providing warm leads this role has good support.
  • With a commercial industry focus, including hotels, hospitality, commercial and retail fit outs, create both short term and medium-term sales opportunities (3-6 months).
  • This role is 90% BDM, and 10% account management so is a true hunter role including prospecting, so cold calls, plus ideally utilising existing relationships, and cross sell/upsell opportunities with existing customers.
  • This role will actively seek out target businesses and contacts building up a portfolio of opportunities with a strategic and technical sell. You will be someone who can identify opportunities, build trust and strong relationships with your clients. A sales support colleague will help manage sales, technical support, and enquiries. Plus you have the support of the Australian Distributor and an external business providing warm leads.
  • Based in Albany, this role requires a high level of travel, expect one week a month to Australia (Mainly Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane) for meetings and tradeshows with all travel related costs covered as you’d expect. Mileage covered in NZ also.


About You:
 
  • We are looking for proven sales/BDM experience with a passion for design, with Building and Construction industry experience, building relationships and driving sales with architects and specifiers in Australia and/or NZ.
  • You might also have experience in Lighting & Home, Industrial Design, Product design or Panelling Understanding the construction process and interest in learning about the product is essential. Ideally you know your way around a building plan or architectural drawing.
  • You will have sound technical skills to credibly sell and manage mechanical products and solutions for clients.
  • Plus, you will have experience using HubSpot, or similar CRM systems, to manage contacts and the sales pipeline.
  • We are looking for a hunter with mainly sales management experience, however, also account management. You will have a customer first focus, a solutions-oriented approach with experience building relationships.
  • Working in a small team, we are looking for someone with a good sense of humour, personable and adaptable to change - you need to be with this role!  You are collaborative and personable to build rapport easily both internally/externally.
  • With strong communication and project management skills, and a high focus on customer satisfaction, you will be structured and analytical in your work approach with excellent problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • You will be comfortable and excited with the level of travel this role requires (one week a month to Australia).
