About the Company:
Service Foods are one of New Zealand's largest privately family owned and operated food service distribution businesses. They directly import over 4000 products from over 20 countries and supplement this with 8000 plus locally produced products. They supply to Cafes, Restaurants, Hotels, Manufacturers, Retailers, Distributors, and exporters nationwide.
With over 800 team members, operating more than 210 trucks with 17 strategically placed branches across New Zealand, you’ll be part of a team that ensures service remains second to none.
About the Role:
As part of their continued growth, they are now looking for a General Manager – Meat to lead the butchery business for the Auckland/Mangere location, working with the leadership team to formulate overall strategy for operations, growth, and business development of the Auckland butchery division.
You will manage, build, coach, and mentor your teams by providing strategic direction and guidance to ensure company objectives are met. You will manage capex in your division, lead the team, manage operating costs to budgets, manage procurement and inventory excellence, ensuring systems and quality control are strong and continue to be improved. Maintaining national and key client expectations, driving growth, and setting up production plans for them. Relationship management is a key part of this role, supporting the sales teams to grow protein sales.

About You:
You’ll probably have experience in a management role in a similar industry (preferably meat, poultry or seafood or food manufacturing) and be well-versed in business processes and functions (Finance, HR, Procurement, Operations, etc.). You’ll be a natural leader, and your previous experience will demonstrate how you get the best out of your team. You will have a clear sight of personal goals and business objectives, a strong drive to overachieve, passionate and dedicated to transform vision into reality, and be able to motivate and inspire your teams.
