About the Role:

Reporting to the Chief Sustainability Officer, the Communications & Engagement Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving impactful internal and external communications through the development and implementation of communications plans.

Key responsibilities include:
 
  • Craft engaging content (graphics and copy) across multiple channels including press releases, social media platforms, website, social media, newsletters, eDMs, business proposals, presentations, print media, video content, signage and other marketing collateral.
  • Social media management – develop strategy, create and manage content, scheduling, advertising campaigns, review performance, responsible for community management across range of social media platforms.
  • Website – create content, manage updates, develop and manage Google advertising campaigns, SEO, liaise with website designer as required.
  • Newsletters – create and manage quarterly internal newsletter and develop regular eDMs for external stakeholders.
  • Provide cross-functional support to the Marketing and Sales teams and other key stakeholders as required.
  • Manage external relationships including media contacts, advertising and website agencies.
  • Manage Public Relations including crisis communication situations and develop appropriate messaging and responses.
  • Plan and coordinate media events, interviews, and press conferences.
  • Monitor media coverage, competitor activity, and industry trends, providing timely updates and recommendations to the management team.
  • Stay up to date with emerging communication tools, techniques, and platforms, and recommend their integration into the company's communication strategies.


About You:
 
  • Proven experience in a generalist communications role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Ideally a passion for people, sustainability, and brand development.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and relationship building skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Tech savvy with experience using Canva, Adobe Suite, Microsoft as well as social media platform.
  • Strong graphic design and copywriting abilities with a creative mindset and eye for detail.
  • Experience with website management and Google advertising.
  • Proficiency in using various communication channels and tools, content management systems - specifically Squarespace, and email marketing software.
  • Solid project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively, with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with plenty of initiative and confidence to develop this role and make your mark as the business grows and develops.
