Te Matatini is the organisation that celebrates and showcases Kapa Haka excellence in Aotearoa and throughout the world. They organise a significant cultural festival by the same name, Te Matatini which is the pinnacle event for Māori performing arts. With the shift in understanding and recognition of how Kapa Haka contributes to the wellbeing of our diverse communities in Aotearoa, Te Matatini has identified its place as a leader to support the growth and potential of Māori.

Mō te tūranga | About the Role:
Working with the Kaiwhakahaere ā-rohe Regional Director, you’ll coordinate, support and work with Kapa Haka whānau in the Rangitāne rohe to ensure the annual Rohe Development Plan is implemented as agreed. Your focus will be to deliver on priorities for expanding Kapa Haka activities in the rohe, building, and strengthening relationships, developing financial forecasting and reporting on milestones achieved. You’ll work closely with Pou Takawaenga in other rohe and will be the key conduit between the rohe and Te Matatini National Office.
This is a full-time permanent position based anywhere in the Rangitāne rohe.
Mōu | About You:
You will draw on your understanding and experience in Kapa Haka to help coordinate and support Kapa Haka whānau across your rohe. Within your rohe, you will be endorsed and have an established network you can utilise. You will navigate comfortably in a tikanga and kaupapa Māori environment and have proficiency in Te Reo Māori.
Alongside being effective in developing, delivering, and presenting your region’s Rohe Development Plan, you will confidently draw on your exceptional relationship management skills to work collaboratively with other rohe and Te Matatini National Office.
