About the Company:

Our client is one of the most premier suppliers of IT Infrastructure, consulting, procurement, implementation, and support services in the Waikato region.


About the Role:  

This role provides technical expertise to desktop and infrastructure and end-client computing, and the focus is on implementation and support of the infrastructure and application platforms as well as managing and escalating issues.
As a Service Engineer you will work mostly with BAU activities to improve and maintain the health and performance of desktop hardware, desktop software and peripheral products as well as IT fault diagnosis and resolution services and documentation our clients customers.

The role involves:
  • Installing and maintaining te operation systems on relevant platforms, managing upgrades of the operation system software and managing patches to the operating system.
  • Technical fault analysis, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Interface between vendors and customers regarding support for resolution of infrastructure problems.
  • Supporting solutions, including new or enhanced systems, technology of infrastructure.
  • Using monitoring tools to ensure measure and investigate systems.
  • Ensuring backup are run and verified regularly.
  About You:
  • Previous experience in  field support position.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the diagnosis and repair of hardware products.
  • Detailed knowledge of PC architecture at hardware and operating system level.
  • Expert knowledge of desktop application software products – particularly Microsoft.
  • Strong understanding of local area networking concepts, principles and protocols from a desktop perspective.
  • Experience in the repair of printer technologies.
  • LAN administration experience.
  • Proficiency across core Microsoft technologies.
  • Previous involvement in infrastructure projects.
